THE MICE
SORRY
2007 HEADLESS RECORDS HLR-007
IN THE 1990'S THERE WAS A POP PUNK BAND FROM EAST SAN DIEGO COUNTY CALLED BILLYCLUB. THEY PLAYED AROUND TOWN A LOT, AT SOMA LIVE, AND OTHER VENUES. THEY GAINED A DECENT FOLLOWING AND MADE A LOT OF FRIENDS WHO PLAYED IN OTHER BANDS. AFTER THEIR VOCALIST STRUGGLED FOR SOME TIME WITH ALCOHOLISM, HE WAS FORCED TO LEAVE THE BAND. RATHER THAN GIVE UP, THE REMAINING MEMBERS OF BILLYCLUB CONTINUED ON AND FORMED THE BAND THE MICE, SOMETIME AROUND THE YEAR 1999 OR 2000. THE AMOUNT OF MATERIAL THEY HAVE RELEASED IS UNCLEAR AT THIS POINT, BUT THERE ARE THREE COMPACT DISCS IN THE PLASTIC FACT RECORDS COLLECTION. THIS ALBUM, "SORRY," WAS RELEASED IN 2007 ON HEADLESS RECORDS, AND CONTAINS TEN TRACKS OF CATCHY SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA PUNK ROCK. THE BAND CONSISTS OF TRAVIS POE ON BASS, ROB LOGIC ON GUITAR, AND RAUL CAMPUZANO ON DRUMS. ROB AND TRAVIS SWITCH OFF ON LEAD AND BACKING VOCALS. THE MICE ARE A FUN BAND TO WATCH LIVE. THEIR SONGS ARE STRAIGHT FORWARD POP PUNK ROCK AND ROLL. NOTE THE SAMPLES FROM THE 1980'S PUNK ROCK CLASSIC FILM "REPO MAN" IN THE SECOND TRACK, "FASHION."
