TIM RALDO AND THE RAMBLIN' OUTLAWS - LIVIN' LIFE ON THE RUN, 2012 TIM RALDO PRODUCTIONS

TIM RALDO AND THE RAMBLIN' OUTLAWS

LIVIN' LIFE ON THE RUN
2012 TIM RALDO PRODUCTIONS TRP-005

IN THE LATE 2000'S IN EAST SAN DIEGO COUNTY, THERE WAS A SMALL POCKET OF MUSICIANS THAT PLAYED IN A HANDFUL OF PUNK AND HARDCORE BANDS, WHO BEGAN TEAMING UP WITH OTHER MUSICIANS AND FORMED A LITTLE SCENE OF OUTLAW COUNTRY PUNK AND FOLK DERIVED ACTS.  THESE INCLUDED WHISKEY WISETALES AND THE RAMBLIN' OUTLAWS.  SAN DIEGO ALREADY HAD A SUBSTANTIAL PRESENCE OF COUNTRY, FOLK, ROOTS AND AMERICANA MUSIC FOR YEARS, AND EVEN HAD CROSSOVERS BETWEEN THESE GENRES AND PUNK, ALTERNATIVE, AND ROCK AND ROLL, NAMELY THE BEAT FARMERS/BUDDY BLUE, THE RUGBURNS AND OTHERS WHO WERE ACTIVE FROM THE 1980'S THROUGH THE MID 90'S.

RAMBLIN' OUTLAWS

THE RAMBLIN' OUTLAWS CAME OUT OF THE CORNER OF PUNK IN SAN DIEGO WHO HAD AN AFFINITY FOR SHIT-KICKIN' OUTLAW COUNTRY.  THEY BEGAN PLAYING SHOWS WITH THE PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED WHISKEY WISETALES (WHO HAVE SINCE TRANSPLANTED TO AUSTIN, TEXAS), AT DIVE BARS LIKE EL CAJON'S NOW-DEFUNCT LAWLESS PUB ON MAIN STREET, THE RADIO ROOM IN NORTH PARK, AND OTHER SPOTS.  THE PROJECT LASTED A FEW YEARS, AND RELEASED TWO COLLECTIONS, "DEVIL'S RAILROAD," RELEASED ON CD-R IN 2009, AND THIS ALBUM, ALSO RELEASED ON CD-R IN A LIMITED RUN OF 100 ON THE TIM RALDO PRODUCTIONS IMPRINT.  THIS INCARNATION FEATURED TIM RALDO ON VOCALS AND GUITAR, KRIS ALIS ON GUITAR, MR. BLUNTZ ON BASS, ZACH ERIA ON DRUMS, AND BRENT ON BANJO.  IT WAS RECORDED AND MIXED BY MR. BLUNTZ.  IN AN ARTICLE PUBLISHED BY THE SAN DIEGO WEEKLY READER, TIM RALDO WAS QUOTED AS SAYING THAT THE BAND WAS TRYING TO "BRIDGE THE GAP BETWEEN HANK WILLIAMS AND G.G. ALLIN."
